1. Definitions
"Client": any individual or business using CableTek’s services.
"Service": scrap cable collection, bin supply, and on-site valuation.
"Bin": the wheelie bin supplied by CableTek for collection of metal scrap.
2. Service Scope
CableTek supplies bins free of charge for the storage of scrap cable. Bins remain the property of CableTek.
Clients must request collection when bins are full; CableTek will schedule collection within a reasonable timeframe.
3. Bin Policy
Bins are provided free, but damage beyond reasonable wear and tear will be charged at cost.
Bins must be stored in a safe and secure location, agreed upon during setup. Lost or stolen bins are charged at replacement cost.
If a bin is not properly used or collection is repeatedly delayed, CableTek may recall the bin at its discretion.
4. Scrap Ownership and Legality
All scrap metal must be owned by the client or account holder.
If disposal requires legal documentation, CableTek cannot collect until all documentation is submitted.
5. Payment Terms
Payments are made via BACS, typically arriving within 2 working hours.
There are no processing charges.
Unless notified in advance, CableTek will use the previously provided bank details for payment.
6. Pricing and Valuation
Scrap is weighed on-site and valued based on daily metal market rates.
7. Liability and Access
Clients must ensure safe access to the bin.
CableTek is not liable for property damage unless due to gross negligence.
8. Termination
CableTek may withdraw its service at any time, with reasonable notice, if terms are breached.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
10. Compliance with Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013
CableTek operates in full compliance with the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013. This includes verifying the identity of individuals selling scrap metal, maintaining detailed transaction records for a minimum of three years, and issuing all payments electronically via BACS. We do not offer cash payments under any circumstances. Clients may be asked to provide photographic identification and proof of address prior to collection and payment.
